Magazine
The
Costumer Magazine is published eight
times annually It provides information
on NCA events, services and people.
It offers educational materials
on all aspects of our industry.
Contributions from the membership
include personal notes, promotional
techniques, helpful hints, new suppliers
and photos and descriptions of shops
across the country
Book
Service
The
Book Service provides books on costuming
and related subjects at NCA cost
plus 15% to cover handling and shipping.
The chairman has access to publishers
for information on hard to find,
out of print and newly released
materials.
Theatrical
Plot Service
The
Plot Service offers costume plots
of plays, musicals and operas at
a nominal cost. New plots submitted
to the service will be used in exchange
for those requested or put toward
credit for future use. This service
is continually being updated and
expanded.
NCA Memorial Fund
The Memorial Fund established
by the NCA has a unique three-fold
offering :
1)
Scholarships are awarded to children
of members or their employees who
wish to major in costuming.
2) An exchange program provides
funds for travel, accommodations
and salary when you or one of your
staff travels to another member
shop for an extended learning experience.
3) Grants are made to universities
and colleges recommended by members
to provide work assistance scholarships
in costuming.
NCA
Guidebook
The NCA Guidebook covers and reviews
many of the things you'll need to
know about the costume industry.
Some of the chapters included are
organization, management, operations,
directory of terms, promotion, make-up
and costume history.
Suppliers
Guide
The Suppliers Guide is maintained
by the NCA to provide an index of
suppliers, current addresses and
products available. The chairman
of each service is listed in the
Costumer Magazine. Updated lists
of available materials from these
services are provided periodically.
With
all of these things going for you,
the NCA is a great place for education
and information!
